Road trips.
Justen is FINALLY done with school!!!!
I FINALLY have a real live boyfriend who is going to like take me out on dates and hold my hand and you know- actually be in the same state as me.
However, in order for my year long dream to come true, I had to fly to California on December 20 and then leave the next morning in Justen’s truck for a 3 day road trip home.
So that’s what I did! As I write this we’re currently on the road and had been for like thirty plus minutes. So let me catch to you….
I woke up yesterday morning at 2:55 AM. Unreasonably early. Sinfully early. Painfully early. (I hope I’m rellaying exactly how much I hated waking up at that time.)
My baby sister Rachel and I left the house at 3:35 and uneventfully made our way to the airport. Once I dropped my self off and my sister sleepily crawled over from the passenger seat to the drivers seat and without exchanging any words, I went inside. (I may have said something to Rachel about gas but it was 4:30 so really I’m practically guessing as to what happened at that time)
Security was a breeze, I put make up on while I waited for the plane. I spent 9 bucks on juice and a Cliff Bar.
I very surprisingly slept on the plane. I probably snored.
Once my plane from New Orleans to San Francisco landed I went to my second flight. At the gate I talked to this nice man who works as a fire fighter engineer at the place where they filmed Top Gun. Check me out! Rubbing elbows with the VIP. I was suffering from flier’s ears so our conversation was probably very awkward. What else is new?
Anyways, my itty bitty plane arrived on time, I got on it no problem, everything was great! I was 30 minutes away from Justen! (!!!!!!!!!!)
Sike! The fog in stupid Sacramento was too thick so we had to turn around and deplane. It was awful. Luckily I ran to customer service, and a nice United employee gave me a standby ticket for a 1:03 flight and a boarding pass to a 3:15 flight. As much as I wanted to catch the 1:03 flight, I smartly put my money on the 3:15 flight. The 1:03 flight ended up being delayed until 2 something and I was number 17 on the standby list- I was almost screwed.
My third flight though was a breeze! The lady sitting next to me totally called me out on going to see someone special. (Maybe my compulsive makeup application tipped her off? Or maybe my giddiness?)
Anyways, everything went smoothly from there. Things kind of have to after you spend 5 hours waiting to get somewhere. Justen and I had our mini-movie reuniting scene. And then I ate In and Out Burger and all was right in the world.
